The Erasmus+ project Skills4Smartex (2018-1-RO01-KA202-049110) is a Strategic partnership project / Vocational Education and Training (VET)* for the period Oct. 2018 – Sept. 2020 with a total budget of 179.380 Euro.

The Project Partners:

Main aim of Skills4Smartex:

Improving knowledge, skills and employability of VET* students in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) related fields, by providing adequate training instruments to understand multi-disciplinary working by means of smart textiles

The main objectives of the project:

  1. Performing of a Guide for smart practices meant for supporting innovation in textile enterprises.
    Needs: Transfer of smart practices from source to target sites.
    Key indicators: 60 textile enterprises involved, 120 professionals from the industry advised within Multiplier events – Workshops, 24 transferred practices
  2. Performing a course in smart textiles, meant for multidisciplinary thinking.
    Needs: Lack of interconnections between disciplines and end applications.
    Key indicators: 100 VET students prepared within blended courses.
  3. Performing a dedicated e-learning instrument, meant for channeling the interest of VET students for "serious games".
    Needs: Orientation towards valuable web content.
    Key indicators: 240 VET students trained on the e-learning instrument.
  4. Improving the skills of VET students by means of practical work in constructing a smart textile prototype.
    Needs: Coping with the challenges of new technological development and multidisciplinary fields.
    Key indicators: Construction of smart textile prototypes for skills training within Joint staff events.

The Skills4Smartex target group

A. Young professionals in textiles => addressed by Multiplier events  (Workshops)  

B. VET students in secondary education and students in basic stage of higher education => addressed by Blended courses and direct approach (leaflets, CDs, website & dedicated e-learning instrument)

The main outputs of the project:

  1. The Guide for smart practices
  2. The Course in smart textiles
  3. The dedicated e-learning instrument and the e-learning platform (
  4. The 6 workshops / multiplier events (120 professionals from the textile industry envisaged)
  5. The 6 blended courses (100 trainees envisaged) + direct approach (240 trainees)
  6. Dissemination: papers, posters, events presentations, etc.
