Open lecture by Dr. Hanna Vorholt (University of York) for Autumn School 2021 'Scales of Knowledge. From Cosmos to Book'

Thursday 21st October 2021 (6.30pm - 8pm CEST), Dr. Hanna Vorholt (University of York) will deliver an open lecture on 'Image as Compilation. Jerusalem in the Liber Floridus and Beyond'.

Dr. Hanna Vorholt is Senior Lecturer at the University of York (Department of History of Art), where she is the director of the Medieval Art & Medievalisms Research Cluster. Dr. Vorholt is an expert of medieval art and visual culture, with research focusing especially on illuminated manuscripts, and the representation of Jerusalem in the medieval West. Dr. Vorholt is an internationally renowned specialist on the Liber Floridus (Ghent Uiversity Library, ms. 92).

This lecture is an open event in the 2021 Autumn School in Medieval Languages and Culture 'Scales of Knowledge. From Cosmos to Book' (18-22 October 2021), co-organized by the Henri Pirenne Institute for Medieval Studies at Ghent University, the Centrer for Medieval Studies (Fordham), the Centre for Medieval Literature (Odense and York) and the Centre for Medieval Studies (York).

Dr. Vorholt's lecture celebrates 900 years of the Liber Floridus in honour of Prof. Albert Derolez. Prior to the lecture will be introductions by Prof. Gita Deneckere (Dean of the Faculty of Arts & Philosophy) and Dr. Hendrik Defoort (Collection Manager University Library)

This event will take place live at Ghent University (Atrium of the Arts' Faculty Library, Rozier 44, Gent). It will also be livestreamed.
